East Bay Festival Promises ‘Vibrant Traditions, Mesmerizing Performances'
A cultural festival celebrating India is happening in the East Bay this weekend.
FREMONT, CA — A longstanding cultural event is set to take place in the East Bay this weekend: the Festival of India Mela & Parade.
Celebrating its 33rd year, the Fremont festival will be held Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the parade getting underway Sunday at 11 a.m.
Presented by Festival of Globe (FOG), the two-day event celebrates unity and diversity and “brings together vibrant traditions, mesmerizing performances, and a grand parade celebrating India’s rich heritage,” according to festival organizers.

Those in attendance can expect live music and dance performances, handicrafts and a shopping bazaar, family-friendly activities and a kids' zone. The parade will feature a variety of cultural floats, organizers shared.
The Festival of India Mela & Parade will take place at 39439 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont.
