San Leandro Continues Sesquicentennial With Variety Of Events
The city's celebration of 150 years of incorporation includes free concerts, farmers markets and other special events.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — San Leandro is celebrating 150 years of incorporation and to mark the sesquicentennial, the city is hosting several events this week, and throughout the remainder of the year, to celebrate.
First up this week is the Downtown San Leandro Farmer’s Market taking place weekly in the Main Library parking lot at 300 Estudillo Avenue. Open from 3 to 7 p.m., the market will offer a variety of homemade and hand grown goodies to include something for everyone. Parking on the first and fourth floors of the Downtown Parking Garage at 122 Estudillo Avenue will be free starting at 3 p.m. on Wednesdays during the market season. Street parking on both Callan Street and Estudillo Avenue, adjacent to the library parking lot is also available, the city said.
Entry to the Library parking lot will be closed on Callan Street, and partially closed on Santa Rosa Street, the city said.

Music and live entertainment aficionados won’t want to miss 150 Minutes of Music and Light at San Leandro's Marina Park at 14001 Monarch Bay Drive, Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022. Bring a lawn chair and get ready to get down to the musical stylings of Hella Fitzgerald, kicking off at 6:30 p.m. For those looking for a bite to eat during the concert, Food Truck Mafia, the Bay Area's finest family of food trucks, will serve up savory food and desserts beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The night ends with a Happy birthday San Leandro light show sponsored by Pinnacle.

Residents are invited to test out the redesign proposals for Bancroft and Williams streets during the Crosstown Corridors Site Design Walk Through On Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Crosstown Corridors Site Design team will install temporary demonstration projects at three locations in one day, Victoria Park at 390 Bancroft Avenue, Toyon Park at 1521 Bancroft Court and Halkin Elementary School at 1300 Williams Street to accept feedback from participants, according to the city of San Leandro website.
Input for the project can also be submitted online.
According to the city, all sesquicentennial events will be subject to the current COVID-19 public health directives.
