San Leandro Police Investigating Armed Robbery; Suspects At Large

San Leandro Police are investigating a daylight robbery where 2 people with guns stole a man's Rolex watch.

SAN LEANDRO, CA -- San Leandro Police are investigating a daylight robbery where two people with guns robbed a man of his Rolex watch.

On Tuesday, Aug. 2, San Leandro Police officers were sent to investigate the report of a robbery on the 15100 block of Crosby Street in the city's Washington Manor area. According to the victim, shortly before 3 pm, he was arriving home from Oakland when he parked his car and began to exit.

While doing so, the victim, an adult male in his 50s, was accosted by two subjects, both holding firearms.

"In fear for his life, the victim gave the suspects his Rolex watch at their demand," police said.

The suspects, who are said to have fled the area in a green, newer model Chevrolet Malibu or Impala, have not been located. They were described as two African American male adults wearing dark clothing.

"San Leandro Police acknowledge this is a regional crime trend and conduct intelligence sharing with Law Enforcement in all capacities," Lieutenant Matthew Barajas said. "Our goal, aside from a safe apprehension, is to bring awareness to this crime trend and work with our community stakeholders and law enforcement partners to end this violence."
