Turkey Giveaway In San Leandro Friday

Your Thanksgiving table will be beautiful with a free turkey.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Is your grocery budget stretched thin?

State Senator Aisha Wahab and the Alameda County Deputy Sheriff's Activities League (DSAL) will host their 2nd Annual Turkey Giveaway for those in need at the DSAL Community Kitchen and small business incubator.

According to DSAL, "In addition to a turkey, we also have free groceries to help residents prepare their holiday meals."

The drive-thru event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. this Friday.

All residents in need from Alameda and Santa Clara counties are welcome to participate.

The invitation reads, "For everyone's safety, remain in your vehicle. No walk-ups."

Also participating in the giveaway, according to Wahab, are the Alameda County Sheriff, Community Kitchen, Alameda County Community Food Bank, and Tri City Volunteers.

Supplies are limited, so the turkeys will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.

The location of the giveaway is 2700 Fairmont Dr., San Leandro, CA 94578.
