Gas Station Arrest Leads To Meth Seizure In San Mateo

Officers' search of a man at a San Mateo gas station turned up methamphetamine, according to police.

SAN MATEO, CA — A search of a man at a San Mateo gas station turned up a crystalline material that tested positive for methamphetamine, police said Friday.

Darren Stuart, 64, of San Mateo, was taken into custody about 11:53 p.m. Thursday at the Arco Gas Station at 1950 South Delaware St., police said.

Suspected methamphetamine was found in his pants pocket and the center console of his vehicle, police said.

A records check showed Stuart had two prior convictions for drug possession. He was accused of possession of a controlled substance with two or more prior convictions, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
