We are the only organization that delivers essential services and personalized support to connect the people living in poverty among us to the full range of resources and services they need. More than just ensuring our clients are fed, clothed, healthy, and housed, we help them create their own stability and remain an active, successful part of the community. Over recent years, more and more families in San Mateo County have been thrust into poverty. From the COVID-19 pandemic, to increasing wealth inequality, to the impacts of inflation and the housing crisis, the financial pressures on our neighbors have grown. Through it all, Samaritan House has been here to help – keeping pace with the demand and opening up new possibilities for people living in poverty. SAN MATEO, CA — A search of a man at a San Mateo gas station turned up a crystalline material that tested positive for methamphetamine, police said Friday.Darren Stuart, 64, of San Mateo, was taken into custody about 11:53 p.m. Thursday at the Arco Gas Station at 1950 South Delaware St., police said.Suspected methamphetamine was found in his pants pocket and the center console of his vehicle, police said.A records check showed Stuart had two prior convictions for drug possession.
