San Mateo Man Convicted In Child Porn Case
A 22-year-old man who uploaded dozens of explicit images and videos pleaded no contest to a felony charge this week, prosecutors said.
SAN MATEO, CA — A San Mateo man arrested earlier this year on child pornography charges this week pleaded no contest to felony charges, according to county prosecutors.
According to the District Attorney's Office, Charlie Strauli, 22, was arrested in March after investigators received an online tip. Prosecutors said Strauli uploaded nearly three dozen images and several videos containing child pornography. Detectives traced an IP address associated with a mobile messaging app to Strauli's home, and a search revealed pictures and videos with victims as young as 6.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for March, and this week's agreement allows for no state prison time, with up to one year in county jail. Strauli will remain out of custody until sentencing, with orders not to possess electronic devices or access the internet.
