SAN RAMON, CA — “Star Wars” characters will soon be traveling from a galaxy far, far away all the way to San Ramon. On Thursday, May the 4th - as in “May the Fourth Be With You” - City Center Bishop Ranch will host a series of “Star Wars” characters at Alexander Square. From 4-7 p.m., guests are welcome to take selfies with all the greats.

Thanks to the pun, May 4 has become the official celebration of all things “Star Wars.” In 2019, California lawmakers voted to declare May 4 ‘Star Wars Day’ to recognize the opening of Disneyland’s Galaxy Edge theme park.

Danville is also celebrating the holiday by hosting a free “Star Wars” scavenger hunt. The first 100 participants to find all the “Star Wars” characters at participating downtown businesses will receive a grab bag of galactic treasures.
