Damages in Country Brook Apartment Fire Expected to Top $1.5 Million

San Ramon Valley Fire District officials believe the fire originated from a second floor apartment where a man jumped and was injured in the fall.

A fire that raged through a San Ramon apartment complex last Friday left an estimated $1.65 million worth of damages in its wake, San Ramon Valley Fire District officials said Tuesday.

The damage to the apartment building is expected to be around $1.4 million and another $250,000 is expected for content lost in the fire.

Officials now believe the fire started in unit 208, located on the second floor of the complex.

It was from unit 208 where a man jumped off the balcony to escape the blaze. The man was injuried from the fall and . It was the only reported injury from the fire.

Over 30 firefighters responded and successfully contained the fire in a little over an hour.

Crews remained on scene throughout the day extinguishing spot fires and insuring that the adjacent units were safe. Crews continued a fire watch on the building until Saturday morning.
