SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District Fire Chief Paige Wilson Meyer will retire next month after more than three decades in fire service, emergency management, and public safety, the district announced Friday.
Meyer, who has served as fire chief and district treasurer since 2013, will retire effective Jan. 7, 2026. His final day coincides with the birthday of his late mother, Linda Wilson, a date he noted holds personal significance, according to a press release Friday.
During his tenure, Meyer oversaw a period of growth and stability for the district, including the elimination of unfunded pension and retiree health care liabilities, full funding of reserves and capital projects, and the achievement of an ISO Class 1 rating, placing the district among the top fire agencies nationwide.
