Indian Dance Classes in Blackhawk Plaza
Premiere TriValley/East Bay based Indian classical dance academy, Ushanjali School of Dance has moved to the Blackhawk plaza building!

Artisitic Director, Guru Naina Shastri started her Bharatanatyam school, Ushanjali School of Dance (www.ushanjali.com) almost 14 years ago in the Windermere community of San Ramon. From humble beginnings of 3 students, the school has now grown to over 80-90 students in three locations around the TriValley-East Bay areas.
Students are taught traditional Bharatanatyam, the South Indian classical dance form. They are trained in both the Practical and Theoretical aspects of this art form and encouraged to appear for formal examinations and obtain certification in dance. The school has also successfully completed 18 "Rangapraveshas/Arangetrams", debut solo performances with live orchestra. Ushanjali school and its students regularly participate and perform in various community and city organized events across the Bay Area.
Guru Naina Shastri, completed her Vidwat level examination in India and has recently graduated from the University of Silicon Andhra (ARIA) with a Master's in Bharatanatyam. She is currently the Chair of San Ramon city's Arts Advisory Committee and is actively involved in the promotion and advocacy of the arts. She is also the Founder/Director of the arts based non-profit organization, Namaha Foundation for the Arts (www.namahaarts.org).

Since September 2024, Ushanjali school of dance moved into the beautiful Blackhawk Plaza building and has been accepting new students 5 years and above. The School is inviting interested students to join the Ushanjali family and begin a journey into the wonderful world of movement, mythology and mindfulness. Students also explore various other forms of dances like Indian folk, semi-classical and contemporary styles.
