A non-profit organization to build the Education Equity in STEM
Led by 16 year-old founder Aryan Agrawal, Gotech Bytes aims at building education equity in STEM through free Computer Science classes.
Gotech Bytes, a pioneering 501(c)(3) non-profit led by high school students, is dedicated to promoting STEM education equity through free computer science classes for underserved communities. Gotech Bytes was founded by Aryan Agrawal, a student at Dougherty Valley High School, after noticing disparities in education in technology and related courses in his community in 2020. The Gotech Bytes team has created a curriculum and these courses are taught by 50+ volunteers and range from basic programming to advanced topics like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, ensuring access for learners at all stages.
Gotech Bytes now features Project Envision, a comprehensive database offering over 500 engaging internships and research opportunities in STEM. These internships enable high school students to gain a competitive edge in college applications and early exposure to the professional world. The organization's global reach extends to over 2500 students, supported by a team of 50+ mentors. They have hosted over 75 events in local libraries and through online Zoom sessions, to provide programming classes and fireside chats with students at University of California.
Mentors at Gotech Bytes assist with AP Computer Science courses, facilitate participation in coding challenges and hackathons, preparing youth for careers in technology.
“Learning to code in fourth grade was transformative for me. It shaped my early education and eventually paved the way for my first job.” said Agrawal. He started GoTech Bytes after noticing disparities in technology education in his community in 2020.
