Our Quality of Life deserves Bold Action

Climate action needs your voice in SanRamon

(San Ramon city government website)

To the Editor:

I’m writing to urge our community to support the San Ramon City Council’s upcoming vote on the Climate Action Plan (CAP), tentatively scheduled for 6/10/25. This plan represents a vital opportunity to reduce harmful emissions, safeguard public health, and ensure a livable environment for future generations. Investing in our present and future will reward us with long-term infrastructure and reward us with a better quality of life.

While some members of the council have voiced uncertainty, the reality is clear: we cannot afford to wait. Extreme heat, wildfire smoke, soaring energy bills, and water shortages are no longer distant threats—they’re our daily reality. The CAP outlines realistic, actionable steps we can take now to confront these challenges head-on.

Let’s send a clear message to our elected officials: bold climate action isn’t optional—it’s essential. It’s about protecting the health, economy, and future of our community.
