Photos: San Ramon Celebrates Art & Wind Festival
Roughly 40,000 visitors enjoyed kites, crafts, and music in San Ramon Monday.
SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon hosted roughly 40,000 visitors for its annual Art & Wind Festival, a celebration of kites and multiculturalism. The family-friendly event featured arts, crafts, specialty food vendors and gourmet food courts; three entertainment stages headlining international music; party bands and variety entertainers; children’s shows, a family amusement park, and, most famously, professional choreographed kite flying demonstrations, and a free kite-making workshop.
“There was a feeling of joy in the air as people moved through the Festival,” San Ramon Parks & Community Services Director Kathi Heimann said in a statement. “It is really fun to see hundreds of kids and adults flying all kinds of different kites, and many people brought chairs and blankets and found a shady spot, and just stayed all day enjoying the atmosphere and sense of community.”
Above, enjoy some photos of the festivities.
