San Ramon Hosting 5K Run/Walk Raising Money For Organ Donors & Recipients

The Donor Network West Foundation Run/Walk at Bishop Ranch will include a mother and the people whose lives her daughter's organs saved.

SAN RAMON, CA — More than 700 people will gather Saturday in San Ramon for the 15th annual Donor Network West Foundation Run/Walk, a 5K that raises many and awareness for organ donors and recipients.

The 5K, presented by Blue Skies Transplant, will raise funds for items like post-transplant resources, grief support, clinical innovation, and research and community education initiatives. The 2025 walk honors the legacies of several Bay Area organ donors, including Tyree Jackson, a Santa Clara resident who died at 22. As a registered organ donor, Jackson saved the lives of four individuals, including Isabelle Estrada, age 16.

Jackson's mother, Summer Eyo, met Isabelle and her mother Heather during a private meeting, and on Saturday, they will walk together in honor of Tyree's memory.

This year, over 700 participants, 36 teams, and 20 business sponsors are registered to participate ,according to organizers. These include many organ donor families, organ and tissue transplant recipients, and health care and community partners.

The run/walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Bishop Ranch at 2700 Camino Ramon.
