SAN RAMON, CA — The Dougherty Valley High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America's Community Service Project team raised $1,043 and collected 105 books for elementary schools in Danville and San Ramon.

The group began by contacting local schools and asking them what sort of assistance they could use. After the schools provided their wishlists of books and school supplies, the group raised money through selling baked goods at community events, organizing drop offs of their baked goods, and launching a GoFundMe campaign. They also organized a book drive that collected 105 books, which were distributed to Quail Run Elementary School, Live Oak Elementary School, Bella Vista Elementary School, Hidden Hills Elementary School, Twin Creeks Elementary School, and more.

"The project not only supported local schools, but it also directly supported the DVHS FBLA Chapter members by providing them an opportunity to grow as leaders helping to manage our project, while also directly contributing to our community," said team member Rohan Dravid.
