Fines Tripled For Firework Usage In Santa Cruz

The police department reminded the public ahead of the 4th of July that all fireworks are illegal in Santa Cruz.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — “Fireworks are not allowed in Santa Cruz and for good reason!”

That’s the reminder police sent this week regarding firework usage ahead of 4th of July.

All fireworks are illegal in Santa Cruz, the police department said.

“The @CityofSantaCruz will implement a Safety Enhancement Zone for Independence Day Holiday, Triple Fines In Effect July 1-5,” the police department said.

Fines for violators could reach more than $1,000.
