Man Found Dead By Ocean View Park, Police Investigate Foul Play

The man, who appears to be middle-aged, was discovered by a woman walking her dog on a path.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The Santa Cruz Police Department is investigating the death of a man found on Monday morning near a public park who had trauma to his torso.

The man, who appears to be middle-aged, was discovered by a woman walking her dog on a path below Ocean View Park near East Cliff Drive, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene at 6:30 a.m. and detectives are determining if there was foul play involved in his death.

The identity of the man and his cause of death are both pending verification from the coroner's office, SCPD said.
