Coroner Releases Details in Santa Monica Shooting
The gunman in Fridays shooting in Santa Monica died from multiple gunshot wounds from police.

The Los Angeles County coroner released a report Wednesday detailing the cause of death for a gunman and his victims in a shooting rampage in Santa Monica.
John Zawahri, who killed his father and brother before lighting their Santa Monica home on fire, died of multiple gunshots fired by police, according to CBSLA.com.
His father, Samir Zawahri, 55, died from multiple gunshot wounds, and his brother Christopher, 24, was killed by a single wound to the chest.

Santa Monica College groundskeeper Carlos Franco died from gunshot wounds to the face and beck, while his daughter, Marcela Diaz-Franco died Sunday morning from a gun shot wound to the head, according to the coroner. They were riding in a red SUV near SMC when Zawahri opened fire.
Zawahri apparently pieced together parts of an AR-15 type semiautomatic rifle, possibly in an attempt to get around regulations around the style of gun, according to the Los Angeles Times.
