Santa Monica Opens Free Counseling Center Following Shootings
The center at Virginia Avenue Park will be open through the end of June.

The city of Santa Monica set up a Community & Connections Support Center for residents who have found it difficult to cope with a series of unrelated shootings.
The first shooting took place on June 7 and claimed six lives. One person was killed in two unrelated shootings.
The services are free, open to anyone on a drop-in basis, and offered in English and Spanish. The center, which is located at Virginia Avenue Park, 2200 Virginia Ave., will be open through the end of June. The hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
