The team went CRAZIAH!

Not on the court much, Keziah Mendez helped LCA defeat Ojai Valley School in volleyball. When she made a kill, the team went wild.

By her own account, Keziah Mendez can't do one pushup.

She's not the strongest player on the Lighthouse Christian Academy girls volleyball team. Consequently, she doesn't get much time on the court.

On Tuesday, she featured against Ojai Valley School. She was set for a hit. She was lethal.

It wasn't her first kill, according to team captain Allie Scribner. But the Saints celebrated it like it was as they deep-fried the Spuds (that's really their mascot name, so don't blame me for the pun) 25-14, 25-7, 25-14.

"I liked the kill a lot," says Keziah (rhymes with Crazy-uh), a junior. "It's been fun. I've never done a sport, so I did a sport and enjoyed it. The girls are really nice."

Newbie Ariana Erickson also got in on the action too. It was the freshman's first time on the court -- and she got two kills. The Saints celebrated those jubilantly. With her good performance, Ariana one of the grandes of the team.

"Honestly, I'm just glad I made them over," Ariana la grande says.

Why did she play volleyball? Because of a pinky promise. Keziah agreed to play soccer on the condition that Ariana give volleyball a try. The sealed the deal with a pinky promise. What better way to enter contract?

Ace fighter pilot Dahlia Gonzalez didn't get to rain down too many rockets on her adversaries Tuesday, as other players were given action. But when she did, she slammed down at 45-degree angles that fulfilled David Goggins' mission: she took their souls.

Don't be disheartened, Ojai Valley, Dahlia has been giving nightmares to girls for basically four years of high school. Now a senior, Dahlia is only more powerful than ever.

In Game 1, her serves went long. By Game 3, Dahlia had recalibrated and delivered death with as much precision as Hezbollah pagers.

Playmaker Allie Scribner showed why she is being recruited for college volleyball. The senior is good at defining the game that you'd expected to find her in the dictionary.

Don't think Lighthouse will suffer with the loss of these two seniors, as sophomore Shayla Papik does everything with ease: killer serves, killer hits, awesome sets. Meanwhile, Jillian Jenkins is hitting, ace-ing -- doing everything showing that she is one in a Jillian.

The new strikeforce is already deadly.
