Body Of Badly Beaten Woman Found On Santa Monica Beach
A woman was found dead with traumatic injuries inside a sleeping bag on the beach Monday morning, police said.

SANTA MONICA, CA — A woman whose face had been beaten was found dead inside a sleeping bag on the beach in Santa Monica on Monday morning, according to police.
A city beach maintenance staffer found the woman before 7 a.m. near Lifeguard Tower 1550, north of Santa Monica Pier, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
After officers arrived, they found the woman inside a sleeping bag with visible trauma to her face. Paramedics from the Santa Monica Fire Department pronounced her dead at the scene, police said.

The woman's identity had not yet been determined as of Monday afternoon. She is described as an approximately 30-year-old homeless woman, police said.
