SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A body was found in the search for a man who went missing after using a rope swing to jump into the Russian River, authorities said.

Deputies and fire personnel responded to a reported drowning shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hacienda Bridge area of the Russian River, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office. A man was seen using a rope swing to jump into the water but then did not resurface.

After not finding the man, officials said the incident shifted to a recovery operation Saturday evening.

Dive teams found a body believed to be the missing man at about 11:20 a.m. Sunday in the Russian River, according to the sheriff's office. The man's identity was not released.
