SONOMA, CA — A 3-year-old Santa Rosa boy suffered a hand injury when he was struck by a vehicle Wednesday in the parking lot of a post office in Sonoma, police said. The boy was running toward his mother's car in the parking lot at 617 Broadway around 1:20 p.m. when he was struck by a Mercedes Benz that was backing up, Sgt. Mike Baraz said.
The female driver of the Mercedes said she did not see the boy, and she remained at the scene, Baraz said. She showed no signs of being impaired by drugs or alcohol, Baraz said.
The boy was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, Baraz said.
