The Sonoma Valley Girl Scouts sashayed around the Plaza to induce the public to snap up "Thin Mints" and "Samoas."

Bearing bright signs and snazzy costumes the Sonoma Valley Girl Scouts announced to pedestrians, shoppers and anyone who'd listen that cookie season is here.

Led by troop leader Jessa Rank, local troops braved rain on Saturday afternoon for the first "Cookie Walkabout Parade," a new event celebrating the release of the Girl Scouts' famous cookie sale.
