Officers from Fairfield, Novato and Petaluma police departments, CHP and Sonoma County Sheriff, will compete in the Sonoma Raceway events.
NORTH BAY, CA — The 25th season of "Top The Cops" got underway last week at Sonoma Raceway, allowing high school students to challenge law enforcement officers from around the Bay Area.
Officers from the Fairfield, Novato and Petaluma police departments, along with the California Highway Patrol and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, will compete for bragging rights on the quarter-mile drag strip.
The raceway said in a statement that the event gives officers an opportunity to speak with the students about safe driving and the rules of the road.
