2010 Census: South Pasadena's Population Up 5.4 Percent
The numbers also show big increases in the city's Latino and Asian populations.

Figures released by the U.S. Census Bureau today show that South Pasadena's population grew to 25,619, showing a 5.4 percent rise from 10 years ago. There was also a large rise among some of the city's various ethnic groups. The city's population checked in at 24,292 in 2000.
As far as ethnicities go, the city largest group remains whites, at 13,922, but that's 4.3 percent less than a decade ago, when there were 14,653 whites officially recorded in the city. Latinos witnessed a 22 percent rise in 2010, with 4,767 recorded compared to 3,903 in 2000. The city's Asian population also rose by 23.4 percent, with 7,973 recorded in 2010. The Asian count in 2000 was 6,456.
Los Angeles County stays as the state's largest county, with a population of 9,818,605. That signals a 3.1 percent increase from 2000, when an official 9,519,338 people inhabited the county's boundaries. For the state, the census recorded 37,253,956 people in 2010, which is a nearly 10 percent change from the roughly 34 million people about a decade ago.
