Moon Festival: Schedule of Events

Face painting, Chinese and Korean books at discounted prices, board games, wishing well, dough doll making, mystery box, photo opportunity, shopping and more.

This year's , co-sponsored by the (SPCC) and , will will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the park surrounding the .

Here's what will go down:

11:00 a.m. Opening ceremony by students and MCs Emma Chung and Marcy Kuo with an introduction by SPCC President Jessica Yee.

11:10 a.m. Barbara Wong, noted story teller—Legend of the Moon Festival.

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Traditional Chinese food served from ACC in Alhambra, The Dumpling Station and Boba.

11:40 Performance by Jason Jiang, Fantastic Chinese Acrobat.

12:35 p.m. First drawing for prize.

12:40 and 1 p.m. Fear factor contest featuring pig intestines, durian (the smell!), bitter melon and 1,000-year-old eggs. Sign up for a team. Prizes for the winning team (release of liability form required).

1:05 p.m. Noodle-eating contest: How much and how fast can you eat? Sign up for the contest. Prizes will be awarded (release of liability form required).

1:35 p.m. Another drawing. Tickets can be purchased throughout the day. Also see the exceptional South Pasadena Line Dancers led by Chow Chow (Yuet) Zee, SPCC Board Member.

2:00 p.m. Enjoy songs by Mr. Yu Shi and Ms. Fang Ta.

2:15 p.m. Try the Chopsticks Skills Contest for a prize.

2:35 p.m. Lion Dance performance by the San Gabriel Valley Cultural Association.

3:00 p.m. Final drawing for a prize.
