Free Buses To Replace BART Trains During Track Work
Buses will replace BART trains between Union City and Fremont this weekend and on two others as the agency completes maintenance projects.
UNION CITY, CA — Free buses will replace BART trains between Union City and Fremont this weekend and on two upcoming ones as the transit agency focuses on southern Alameda County in its initiative to remove potentially hazardous trees in advance of severe winter storms.
The closure will provide workers with enough room to safely do maintenance work like replacing old rail and station brightening activities, which sometimes include cleaning, painting and upgrading lighting.
The work in Alameda County will take place this Saturday and Sunday and as well as Sept. 9-10 and Sept. 23-24. BART says people may experience delays of up to 30 minutes on these weekends.
Additionally, service between Balboa Park and Daly City will be reduced to one track this Sunday as well as Sept. 10 and Sept. 24 with anticipated delays of up to 15 minutes.
