• Oakland teen arrested following attempted robbery, shooting at Walnut Creek gas station (mercurynews.com) — A gas station employee in Walnut Creek was hospitalized but is expected to survive after being shot during an attempted robbery early Monday at the Kwik Stop on South California Boulevard. Police say they later arrested a 16-year-old suspect with help from Oakland officers, and are still investigating the masked pair who allegedly tried to steal cigarettes.
