• Oakland teen arrested following attempted robbery, shooting at Walnut Creek gas station (mercurynews.com) — A gas station employee in Walnut Creek was hospitalized but is expected to survive after being shot during an attempted robbery early Monday at the Kwik Stop on South California Boulevard. Police say they later arrested a 16-year-old suspect with help from Oakland officers, and are still investigating the masked pair who allegedly tried to steal cigarettes.

The Walnut Creek Pickle Ball Shutdown Fight (patch.com) — Walnut Creek pickleball players and nearby Rudgear Park neighbors are locked in a lawsuit over court noise, with the city caught between access to recreation and quality-of-life complaints. Court hours have already been cut, and the city is asking a judge to dismiss the case while exploring noise buffers and scheduling changes that could shape how and where residents play in the future.
