'Permanently Temporary': Photo Of The Day

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Patch reader Fran Guidry sent in this photo taken at the entrance to a local trail.
"I've been walking up the Briones to Mt. Diablo trail for nearly 10 years now and this sign has been here the whole time," Fran wrote in an email to Patch. "I have no idea where the permanent version of the trail might be (grin)."
Fran continued: "My usual entrance to the Acalanes Ridge open space is this rugged 'stair step' of tree roots and I like to challenge myself a bit by climbing the 'stairs.' With all the lovely rain we've had this year, though, I'm taking the easier alternative just out of frame to the left."
