Walnut Creek Promotes Randy Villa To Police Sergeant

WALNUT CREEK, CA — The Walnut Creek Police Department recently promoted Randy Villa to the rank of sergeant.

Villa performed exceptionally well in a competitive selection process and brings a wealth of experience to his new leadership position, Walnut Creek PD said.

Villa began his career in 2014 and has served in various assignments including corporal, field training officer, SWAT operator, detective and K9 handler; as a member of the Mutual Aid Mobile Field Force and the department's Read React, Recruiting and the Crime Scene Investigations teams.

Villa graduated in 2023 from the Inner Perspectives Training Curriculum, a program that gives police officers the skills to improve and grow their leadership capabilities.

The salary range for a Walnut Creek police sergeant is between $146,000 and $162,000 per year, according to the city's salary schedule for 2024.
