Over 9K Without Power In Santa Cruz County

WATSONVILLE, CA — More than 9,00 customers are without power Friday around Watsonville due to an unknown cause, according to PG&E.
The outage affects western Watsonville and areas around Freedom and Interlaken, according to a PG&E map.

The unplanned outage was reported at 9:23 a.m. Friday, and is expected to be restored around 1:45 p.m., according to PG&E. Just over 9,000 people were without power as of 12:36 p.m., but the number was over 11,000 at the start of the outage.

No cause was given.
"A PG&E power outage is currently impacting thousands of residents and businesses in different areas of Watsonville," the city of Watsonville wrote on its Facebook page at 10:42 a.m. "According to the PG&E Power Outage Map, power is expected to be restored at about 11:45 AM. The cause of the power outage is unknown. We are aware that some traffic signal lights are not working, we ask motorists to treat the non-working lights as an all-way stop and treat every entrance to an intersection as a stop sign."
