• Initial cohort of Pajaro Valley High freshmen complete PV Advance college skills course (santacruzsentinel.com) — A new early-college program at Pajaro Valley High in Watsonville just saw 57 freshmen finish their first semester earning Cabrillo College credit while still in high school. The PV Advance pathway can give students up to 24 transferable units, roughly a year of college, along with campus visits, career skills, and support from local educators who once walked the same Watsonville halls.
   

• Downtown Watsonville now a State-Designated Cultural District (ksbw.com) — Downtown Watsonville has just been officially named a California State-Designated Cultural District, bringing new funding, marketing support, and recognition to the city’s arts scene from 2026–2030. This status highlights local festivals, public art, and cultural institutions, and could boost opportunities for Watsonville artists, businesses, and community events in the years ahead.
