Runaway 12-Year-Olds Found After 2 Hit-And-Run Crashes In Bay Area

All regional law enforcement agencies had been looking for the missing 12-year-olds.

WATSONVILLE, CA — Two at-risk, missing 12-year-olds were found Sunday after the children were involved in two hit-and-run crashes, police said.

Neveah Castillo, 12, took her mother's light blue Nissan Altima around 1 a.m. Saturday from the 200 block of Riverside Drive in Watsonville, according to the Watsonville Police Department.

She was involved in a hit-and-run around 10 a.m. in Marina, according to police. She was believed to be with her 12-year-old boyfriend, Kevin Trinidad.

All regional law enforcement agencies were notified and were looking for both kids.

"Based on prior statements Neveah made, we are extremely concerned about her well-being and the safety of the public as she is driving," police said on social media.

The pair was involved in a second hit-and-run crash later in the day in San Jose, before abandoning the car they were driving, police said.

Both children were found at about 7:50 a.m. Sunday in Santa Clara.
