Watsonville Man Fatally Struck On Highway 1
The 44-year-old Watsonville man was in the third lane of the highway when he was hit but two vehicles in Santa Cruz.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A pedestrian was hit and killed on state Highway 1 early Saturday morning in Santa Cruz, California Highway Patrol officials said today. The 44-year-old Watsonville man was in the third lane of the highway just north of Emeline Avenue at 4:38 a.m. when he was hit by a 2018 Toyota Corolla and a 2016 Ford F-250, according to the CHP.
The roadway was wet and the sky was dark and cloudy at the time of the crash, CHP officials said.
The crash is still under investigation and no further information was immediately available. The Santa Cruz County coroner's office will release the man's identity once his family members are notified.
