Boulder Valley School District To Begin Year With Remote Learning
Both St. Vrain and Boulder Valley school districts will begin the fall semester with remote classes.
BOULDER, CO — The Boulder Valley School District will begin the school year with remote learning, the district announced Tuesday during a board meeting.
In July, the district announced the start date would be pushed back to the week of Aug. 24. Virtual learning will continue through at least Sept. 22, district officials said.
The district has a five-phase plan, and before Tuesday's announcement, schools were set to resume in phase 3 — a mix of in-person and remote learning. That was changed to phase 1, in which all learning is done remotely.

All buildings will be closed, there will be no transportation services, and only emergency food services and childcare will be allowed under phase 1.
The district made the announcement just hours after St. Vrain Valley Schools announced it would begin all classes virtually. Classes in the district are scheduled to begin Aug. 18 for all grades except kindergarten, which is set to begin Aug. 20.
