'Kudo' The Dog Rescued After Icy Fall Into Boulder Reservoir
The pup took a dip after skating on thin ice.

BOULDER, CO -- The Boulder Fire-Rescue dive team successfully rescued 'Kudo' the dog on Sunday afternoon after he fell through some thin ice on Boulder Reservoir, the department announced in a tweet. According the the Daily Camera, the incident took place at about 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, and rescuers were able to get Kudo out of the water after just ten minutes after a friend called 911.
"Please don't let your dog off-leash near ponds or bodies of water, no matter how frozen they appear," Boulder Fire-Rescue wrote in a tweet on Monday.

The City of Boulder Police Department chimed in, noting that local emergency personnel "treat 'dog on ice' calls as emergencies and respond as quickly as possible with other emergency personnel."
