DENVER, CO — Colorado Rockies pitcher Ryan Feltner suffered a skull fracture and concussion Saturday night after getting hit by a ball off the bat of Philadelphia’s Nick Castellanos, 31, according to The Associated Press.

During Saturday night's game, Castellanos hit a 92.7 mile-per-hour slider, which hit Feltner, 26, on the back right side of his head, the outlet reported. Feltner fell to the ground and could be seen laying on his stomach as two trainers rushed to help. Feltner then walked off the field with the help of the trainers.

Feltner was discharged from Swedish Medical Center on Sunday and will not need surgery. The MLB said that the Colorado Rockies placed Feltner on the 15-day injured list Sunday.
