BOULDER, CO — Two Colorado men died Monday when a small plane they were in crashed in Nebraska.
James Holland, 80, of Fort Collins, and Daniel Benedict, 58, of Boulder, were in a private two-seater that crashed around 8:40 a.m. Monday in a pasture about 12 miles northeast of Tryon, the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The plane, identified as a Vans RV9, took off from Greeley, Colorado, and was headed to Cherokee, Iowa, the sheriff's office said. Rainy and low visibility may have contributed to the crash.
