Here are the top stories in Boulder today:
- It's that time of year, the time when high school seniors are getting acceptance letters to college and trying to figure out they are going to pay for it. To help, the Colorado County Clerks Association is offering five regional one-time grant awards of $1,000 and four regional awards for $500 to seniors graduating from Colorado high schools to further their education at any university, college, junior college or technical institution. Reportedly, selection will be based on the following: completed application, 3.25 GPA minimum, participation in extracurriculars, community and service activities and financial need. Deadline to apply is March 31. Download the application here. (Longmont Times-Call)
- Take note residents. Boulder County Housing and Human Services Front Desk is closed this week. They are available to assist community members virtually and by phone. The office is closed for staff development and training related to emergency incidents. (City of Boulder Colorado Government via Facebook)

- It was a scary scene outside the North Boulder Recreation Center Monday afternoon as police detained two individuals, one of which was reportedly armed. According to reports, the Boulder Police were on the scene within a minute of getting the report. They were able to quickly detain a 19-year-old male who was armed (with what has been determined to be a stolen gun), by stopping him in his vehicle, which he was using to flee the scene. Everyone in the car was also detained. (independent)
