Boulder Businesses Dominate 'Colorado Companies To Watch' List

Nearly one-fifth of the statewide distinctions went to Boulder-based businesses and entrepreneurs.

BOULDER, CO -- Each year, 50 companies across the Centennial State are chosen for the "Colorado Companies to Watch" list, a distinction offered to a select group of second-stage entrepreneurs who have made it past the start-up stage and are now focused on growth and expansion. In 2018, nine of those businesses were based in Boulder.

"Boulder has less than 2 percent of the state's population but we have 9 of the 50 companies," said city councilman Bob Yates at a meeting last month in a ceremony celebrating the local accomplishment. Council extended the honor by naming all of October "Businesses to Watch Month."

The companies selected for the list enjoy a full year of marketing support, events and networking, and valuable business opportunities through the prize, now in its tenth year.
