BOULDER, Colo. – This month, Namasté Solar is kicking off the second annual Keep the Lights on Colorado campaign to help families throughout Colorado who are struggling to afford their home energy bills. The campaign goal is to raise $50,000 for Energy Outreach Colorado, a Denver-based not-for-profit that provides access to vital energy resources. $250 supports one family for a year, and if this campaign reaches its goal, it will provide support to 200 Colorado families. The campaign begins Nov. 1 and runs through Nov. 30.

Namasté Solar is leading with a contribution of $10,000 and 11 partner organizations have already signed on as sponsors. Other Colorado companies are invited to join and gain sponsor benefits, and this year, individuals can participate. Each individual who donates is entered into a weekly drawing with chances to win prize packs from Upslope Brewing, Skratch Labs, Little Secrets Chocolates, Topgolf, and Topo Designs.

Winter is fast approaching along with increased electricity rates for Xcel customers. Due to COVID-19, thousands of Coloradans lost their jobs and home energy use has gone up. These factors disproportionately affect low-income families and communities of color, leaving them
especially vulnerable to getting their power shut off. Energy Outreach Colorado believes that everyone deserves to have access to the necessity of a safe, warm home, regardless of whether they can afford to pay their energy bills.
