BOULDER, CO —The Colorado football team added an accomplished and experienced wide receiver over the weekend. However, another receiver said he's leaving the Buffaloes' program, while a former Buffs' pass-catcher has transferred to a Pac 12 rival.

Those are just some of the latest comings and goings during a busy offseason in Boulder.

On Sunday, former Baylor wide receiver R.J. Sneed revealed on Twitter that he was joining the Buffaloes as a graduate transfer for next season. He will have one year of eligibility remaining. According to 247Sports.com, Sneed will begin classes in Boulder this week.

The 6-foot-1, 203-pound Sneed played in 47 games over five seasons at Baylor. In 2020, he led the team in receptions (39) and receiving yards (497). He was second on the team in catches (44 ) and receiving yards (563) this past season.

A native of Cypress Ranch, Texas, Sneed reportedly canceled a visit to Mississippi State when he committed to Colorado, according to 247Sports.com.

Tim Watkins, who covers Baylor for BearsIllustrated.com told BuffStampede.com that Sneed is capable of spectacular catches, though occasionally fails at the routine plays.

"This past season was an up and down one for Sneed, who put up better numbers but his impact late in the season fell a bit," Watkins said. "Sneed has the ability to make any catch, and will dazzle you at times. He will also drop some easy ones and still needs to get better at blocking. One of the leaders for the Bears the past three years, Sneed graduated from Baylor and was looking for a better fit in terms of offensive schemes."

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, former Colorado wide receiver Brendan Rice, announced on Twitter that he had transferred to USC.

Rice, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, had 21 catches for 299 and three touchdowns as a second-year freshman last season. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder is a native of Chandler, Arizona, and he was a three-star recruit out of high school, according to ESPN.

Also on Tuesday, Buffaloes' wide receiver Dimitri Stanly announced on Twitter he had entered the NCAA's transfer portal, becoming the 21st Colorado player to exit the program since September, according to 247Sports.

Stanley, who is from Aurora, battled injuries this past season, but he led Colorado in receiving yards (249) during the abbreviated 2020 campaign.

Colorado went 4-8 last season, 3-6 in the Pac-12.
