Community Foundation Announces 2018 Leadership Fellows
Aspiring Boulder leaders come together to advance inclusivity and build a stronger community.

BOULDER, CO - A fresh crop of leaders and visionaries have been named to the 2018-2019 class of Leadership Fellows Boulder County. The program, co-sponsored by the Community Foundation and the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, brings together leaders across a variety of sectors to network and advance inclusivity throughout the community. Over eleven months, the 41 newly-selected fellows will meet to discuss topics such as business and the local economy, collaboration, critical human needs, education funding and systems, affordable housing, immigration, criminal justice and the arts.
“The Leadership Fellows program is one of the primary ways in which we embody our vision of equity in our community,” said Jeff Hirota, CEO of the Community Foundation in a statement. “We offer emerging leaders a deep appreciation for the social, environmental, and economic interests of Boulder County.”
In order to participate, prospective fellows must commit to taking on a leadership position in the community within 6 months of graduation. This is the tenth year of the program, and past statistics show that 81 percent of past fellows have joined a nonprofit board, 26 percent have joined a government board or commission, 13 percent have worked on a local campaign for a candidate or issue, and 32 percent have been offered a career promotion within a year of completing the program.
