Emergency "Nobody Is Above The Law" Events Erupt Across BoCo
Self-styled 'Mueller Rapid Response' events scheduled across the region for 5 p.m. this evening.

BOULDER, CO -- Progressive advocacy group Moveon.org is mobilizing its followers tonight for nationwide protests against the Trump administration's installation of new Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker as the special counsel on Robert Mueller's Russia investigation. The position had previously been held by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
The protest comes a day after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced he is leaving the administration at the request of President Donald Trump. Whitaker had then been placed in Session's former position.
Sessions had recused himself in March 2017 from Mueller's probe investigating Russian interference in the presidential election and possible collusion by members of the Trump campaign. Sessions' deputy attorney general, Rosenstein, was thus the one to appoint Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller to oversee the probe in May 2017 after Trump fired then-FBI director James Comey.

"Donald Trump just crossed a red line," explain Moveon.org organizers on their event page, asserting that the president was "Violating the independence of the investigation pursuing criminal charges in the Trump-Russia scandal and cover-up."
