- From the campus of the University of Colorado Boulder to a tour in Thailand, young golfer Yannik Paul is rising to fame, finishing in solo second place, his 20-under-par 268 was reportedly just four shots behind the winner at the recent Thailand Classic. Currently ranked 150th in the World Golf Rankings, this was Paul's third top-two finish in the last nine months. Congratulations! (Colorado Springs Gazette)
- It's been a long time! The lasting power of The Sink Bar at 1165 13th Street in Boulder is celebrating its 100th anniversary. According to Westword, "Mark Heinritz, who currently owns the spot with his brother Chris and business partner Tell Jones, said, 'at some point, the Sink sold more Coors than anywhere else in the country.' [In addition, the place has had a number of famous visitors including]: President Barack Obama, chefs Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert and Robert Redford, who famously swabbed floors as an employee back in 1955." The place was also famous for serving its 3.2 percent beer that 18-year-olds could drink for generations in Colorado. However, those days are long gone, but the bar and its unique interior, low ceilings and dedication to the community remains. Happy anniversary! (Westword)
