Red Flag Warning, Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued In Boulder
Boulder can see gusts of as much as 65 miles an hour on Wednesday as part of a statewide winter storm.

BOULDER, CO — Boulder can expect to see winds of up to 75 miles an hour Wednesday, the National Weather Service reported.
A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued in the city and much of Colorado. A High Wind Warning and Red Flag Warning are in effect from Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. in Colorado, according to the NWS.
Officials say winds could lead to widespread power outages and very high fire danger. However, the NWS is also reporting that there is a 50 percent chance of precipitation in Boulder, though little to snow accumulation is expected. However, the central and southern parts of the state might see much higher snowfalls, and ski areas like Telluride, Purgatory, and Wolf Creek may see as much as a foot of snow, with winds of up to 80 miles an hour.

Winds are expected to pick up Tuesday night, and increase to anywhere from 35 to 45 miles an hour over the day. Gusts around western Denver in the mountains foothills could increase to 90 miles an hour.
Winds are expected to start dying down around 3 p.m., and the storm is expected to pass Wednesday night, with sunny skies and and winds of around 9 to 11 mph in Boulder on Thursday.

Experts recommend making sure the any loose outdoor objects are either brought inside or firmly tied down, and phones are charged in case power is lost.
