Lace Up For The Eerie Erie This Saturday

The 36th edition of the race is set to take off under sunny skies.

ERIE, CO -- Revelers will have the chance to test their Halloween costumes for speed this Saturday at the annual Eerie Erie 5k and 10k running races. Both routes run through historic downtown Erie and follow the trail systems through Coal Creek Open Space. 10k runners will even take a seasonal swing past the Green Mountain Cemetery.

Registration costs $30, and proceeds from the 36th edition of the Eerie Erie will go to the Optimist Club of Erie, a non-profit organization organized to benefit local children by funding youth specific events, programs and activities throughout the year.

Participants can enjoy a light breakfast, coffee, and cocoa, and every registrant will go home with a long-sleeve, high performance shirt. Strollers and dogs are both allowed in the 5k. Lindsey Scherf was first across the line in the 2017 10k with a time of 35:04, while the men's winner was Michael Kraus at 36:15. In the 5k, Will Norris won for the men in 15:26, and Alison Steele was the first female in 19:53.
