Possible Federal Drug Charges For Lyons Pharmacy Owner

Accusations include illegal distribution of narcotics.

LYONS, CO -- A local pharmacy owner has been charged with illegal distribution of prescription drugs by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

An Oct. 25 news release stated that Mary Aronson, the owner and operator of St. Vrain Pharmacy in Lyons, is charged with illegally distributing oxycodone, amphetamine, and lorazepam between December of 2017, and February of 2018.

“Reducing opioid deaths is a genuine battle," said U.S Attorney Bob Troyer in a statement. "The U.S. Attorney’s Office will use all of its resources – both criminal and civil – to identify and stop unlawful prescribers and dispensers of opioids. We fight this battle one prosecution at a time.”

If convicted, Aronson faces a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a fine of as much as one million dollars.
