Pow Wow And Parade: Boulder County Indigenous People's Day
The event runs throughout the weekend with opportunities to shop, celebrate, and learn.

BOULDER, CO -The Civic Area will transform into the Arapaho Trading Camp this weekend, offering the chance to try traditional food and drink while shopping for art and jewelry sold by local indigenous artisans. It is all a part of the Boulder Indigenous People's Day celebration, held this weekend as a way for the community to embrace its native culture and history.
A pow wow will take place Saturday, Sunday, and Monday afternoons from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature crafts, traditional dress, and song and dance performances. Dance contests will be held throughout the weekend for men and women with hefty prize purses - $500, $400, and $300 dollars for the top three placings respectively. Categories include traditional, golden age, grass dance, and jingle dress, among others.
The grand finale comes Monday morning with a parade that will be "The culmination of the weekend's celebration and a profound moment of healing and reflection for the people of Boulder Valley and all along the Front Range," according to the event's Facebook page.
